Making use of a black and white color palette is the way to go when you want to highlight various elements of design. The experts at Total Home Remodeling took this particular bathroom to a whole new level with the perfect combination of textures, patterns and overall artistic expression. Previously an unfinished second floor, this area has beautifully transformed into a luxurious master suite with the bathroom as the primary focal point.

“The homeowners wanted one solid sight line from the bathroom into the master bedroom,” indicated Nick Calvillo, Project Developer, referring to the see-through electric fireplace framed with gray-toned stack stone that provides the perfect “window” to and from the bedroom.

Another strong voice in the bathroom is the two-person tub.

“The owners wanted cabinetry around the perimeter, but it is difficult to waterproof that, so we went with the more practical use of tile,” stated Calvillo.

Other key players include the black-stained oak cabinets with linear pulls; the hexagonal tile throughout that carries into the shower; the overhead linear light fixture; and the sky lights situated above each sink. The zero-threshold shower provides stylish flexibility and features a linear drain at the entrance, a long linear shower niche, and a rain head shower head. The linear look of the space is upheld further by the oversized wall tiles.

The center vanity also takes command of the space and stands as more than just a functional system, but also a piece of art.

“We made the front profile a deliberate design feature, and we created angled cabinets on the upper area to get the most use of the space without having to build out the entire wall,” said Calvillo. The frameless mirrors with built-in lighting are centered above the individual vanities, and the center vanity cabinet contains necessary power outlets in order to maintain the solid piece of the backsplash.
