For more than a decade, KCBR Design | Remodel has been transforming homes across the Kansas City metro. But ask founders Anthony and Abby Myers what they’re most proud of, and the conversation shifts away from beautiful kitchens and luxury bathrooms.

Instead, they’ll tell you about the people and the families they’ve served, the team they’ve built, and the relationships that continue long after the final walkthrough. That’s what Bigger Than Remodeling has always meant.

When Anthony founded KCBR more than ten years ago, his vision wasn’t simply to create another remodeling company. Instead, he wanted to redefine what homeowners could expect from the experience.

“Too often, people think remodeling has to be stressful,” he said. “We wanted to create a company where clients feel supported, informed, and confident from the very beginning.”

What began as a small operation has grown into a full-service firm with more than 1,300 completed projects and a team of designers, project directors, craftsmen, and trusted trade partners under one roof, handling every step from design to the final walkthrough. When Abby officially joined in 2020, she helped strengthen the operations and culture, building a workplace where people can grow meaningful careers.

“Our team is the heart of everything we do,” she expressed. “When people genuinely care about each other and the families they’re serving, it shows in every interaction.”

KCBR hires people who share its values of integrity, collaboration, accountability, growth, and quality, principles that translate, for homeowners, into trust. Every project begins with listening, and clients move through consultations, design, selections, and construction, with clear communication at every stage.

That care has become one of KCBR’s greatest differentiators. Many clients return years later for another space or send friends their way. One client hired KCBR to remodel her basement, then came back for her office. The relationship became a two-way one, as KCBR now works with her spa and wellness business as a client, too, and this winter the two will team up again on a bathroom design and remodel.

“Those relationships are incredibly meaningful to us,” Abby reflected. “When someone trusts us with another project, it tells us we’ve earned their confidence.”

That same spirit extends into the community. Through its Building Better Together initiative, KCBR partners with Avenue of Life, donating $25 for every repeat or referral lead it receives, alongside annual volunteer days.

One recent transformation captures the craftsmanship behind it all: a family who loved their home and neighborhood but had outgrown how it functioned. Rather than move, they reimagined what they had. KCBR relocated the kitchen entirely, creating a spacious gathering space with a large island and a new prep kitchen and pantry, while an underused dining room became a mudroom and laundry room the family now uses daily.

Looking ahead, Anthony and Abby see KCBR’s future as an opportunity to keep investing in their people, strengthening relationships, and creating an experience homeowners can feel confident in from start to finish. After more than a decade and 1,300-plus remodels, they remain just as committed to the idea that inspired KCBR in the first place: remodeling is about more than the spaces you change. It’s about the people you meet, the trust you build, and the lasting relationships that come from doing meaningful work together. That’s what Bigger Than Remodeling means to KCBR.
