“My passion for design paired with my love of real estate makes me the perfect partner as you are dreaming of your next home,” expressed Pam Baker, whose motto “Designed to sell with Vision to Buy” integrates her interior design and real estate broker experience.
As a Licensed Broker in Kansas and Missouri and Director of Expansion and Relations for the #1 ranked (in 2020) Weichert Realtors/Welch & Co. and as Client Care Manager for Suma Design, which is owned by her husband, Mark Sumada, Baker offers a full-service approach as a new construction specialist and Realtor.
“As a team, we offer design, brokerage, and building services to create a more simplistic, streamlined and cohesive process as you build a home,” noted Baker, who works with clients to help them furnish their home by taking them to various home furnishing markets to ensure the end product is exactly what they visualized. “Clients trust and love us. I am proud of the service we give. Once you build with us, you become part of our family. We often become friends with our clients, establishing that trust, which makes it easy to work together.”
Baker is known for giving clients a fun and enjoyable experience. She not only eliminates the stress factor but she also gives them confidence in the building process, as she guides them in the design of all interior elements. Her job is to make each client feel comfortable in the decisions they are making, which is easily accomplished due to the talent and expertise of Baker and the entire team at Suma Design.
The undeniable attention to detail and professionalism can be seen in all that Baker does and touches, as evidenced with one of her latest home designs, the Monterey, which demonstrates a powerful execution of aesthetics and function.
Originally designed by Baker and built by Sumada as a speculative home, this exciting design captured the attention of a potential buyer immediately, so Baker dove even deeper to understand the client’s lifestyle in order to capture the perfect vision and ambiance for this home. The resulting product is nothing short of phenomenal and stands as a true testament to Baker’s artistic and keen eye.
Built near Riverside in North Kansas City and sitting upon a bluff on a large corner lot, this home has decided personality. The exterior, with elements of cedar, white stone and black and white colors provide striking curb appeal, with large, offset sidewalk squares to keep pace with its originality.
The main level offers an expansive great room, kitchen, and dining area, as well as a master suite and additional bedroom/office with adjoining ¾ bath and shower. The lower level has two bedrooms with bathrooms and a large great room and bar area, perfect for entertaining or just relaxing.
The gray and white color palette of the home provided the perfect platform for Baker from which to leap and integrate the innovative design elements for which she is known, from the vaulted ceiling in the great room paired with large format tile around the fireplace and the engineered white oak floors to the sleek dark gray cabinetry in the kitchen.
The large L-shaped island in the kitchen is designed to comfortably seat six people. It seamlessly overlooks the great room, which has a telescopic door opening to the contiguous covered patio, providing a comfortable, open-air ambiance.
Not one to hide in the background, the master bedroom is highlighted with floor-to-ceiling windows and the adjoining master bathroom is a veritable spa-like retreat. The large shower boasts a built-in bench accompanied by a warm layer of tile that mimics the white oak appointments in other areas of the home. The floating vanity with two sinks confidently floats above the large format tile, providing a sleek, contemporary vibe in effortless fashion.
What Baker does for her clients comes naturally, and she appreciates the opportunity to be of service to them in a unique and gratifying way. Baker excels at collaborating with clients, giving them the personalized attention they deserve.
“This job is a great fit for my passion,” she smiled. “Our goal is to be exciting and conscientious of the environment and the economy yet provide people with the pride of being different and the excitement of coming home to be with family, and most of all, to provide a quality of life through a quality product.”
