Crystal Gatewood is accustomed to wearing many hats: mom, singer/songwriter, animal lover, art and fashion enthusiast, athlete, and so much more. An independent agent for RE/MAX Best Associates, Crystal, who has a degree in psychology and a background in social work, began her career in real estate in Dallas, Texas in 2005 before eventually making the move back to her Kansas City roots. A native of Harrisonville, Missouri, Crystal appreciates the friendliness of a small town atmosphere, and that approachability is evident in her presence. Connecting with people is what she does best, and she will always place a premium on relationships above all else.
When asked in what price range she works, Crystal emphasized her most important philosophy.
“To me, this job is more about the people than the price, as I work in all price ranges and often from referrals,” she noted. “I feel truly honored to help them, especially when it comes to such an important transaction as buying or selling a home.”
Crystal’s experience covers a broad spectrum and includes the luxury market, foreclosures, first-time homebuyers, investors and leasing. Additionally, she has an impressive portfolio of resources for clients (need a trusted Kanas City remodeler, plumber or painter in Overland Park KS?) and also has specialty knowledge for physician clients, connecting them with loan products, lenders and opportunities specifically tailored to their profession.
While advances in technology have definitely aided the real estate transaction process, Crystal still places a strong emphasis on the true nature of the business: serving others to the best of one’s ability, which stands as the hallmark of everything she does, as networking with others just comes naturally to her.
“This business is so much fun for me, and I love what I do,” she smiled. “I work extremely hard and pride myself on personal service, tailoring what I do to what my clients want and need.”
Creativity is at the epicenter of who Crystal is. With a keen eye for design, she assists clients in staging their homes and offers design and remodeling advice. As a result, clients are better positioned to sell their homes faster and for higher prices, maximizing the value of their home.
In her free time, Crystal is a supporter of music and the local live music scene. A musician and performer, she is a part of two bands: a two-piece acoustic duo called Beauty and The McBeest, sharing the stage with fellow performer Scotty McBee, and KC Prime, a four-piece ensemble. With the advent of Covid-19, however, live shows have been placed on hold. In lieu of those events, Crystal enjoys performing through the online Facebook platform of KC Online Live Music Series which she is also the founding creator along with Scotty McBee, assistant daily manager and technical support and Michael Small, daily operations manager and booking.
Between her family, her business and her music, Crystal enjoys a full life, and that is exactly how she prefers it.
