Getting ready to start the day or wind down for the evening can be a luxurious experience in this spa-worthy bathroom. Every detail in this space works to increase the room’s functionality while simultaneously elevating its artistic good looks.

Originally a builder-grade bathroom, the entire space was dramatically transformed by Donna Kirsopp, CKBR Design Consultant with Schloegel Design Remodel. This bathroom has effortlessly expanded its footprint and functionality through the use of  innovative design elements that visually tie the space together.

Touches of elegance abound in this bathroom. The marble tile “rug” on the floor, bordered with dark tiles is handsomely linked to the same tile in the zero-entry shower, adding a layer of distinction to the area. The walnut cabinetry enveloped in an espresso stain provides a platform for the subtle brown wood tones to whisper softly through.

The Fleur-de-lis pattern in the sinks and the accompanying basket weave backsplash set the perfect tone of sophistication and style. Again, Kirsopp applied a keen eye to maintain consistency of style without one element overshadowing the other.

“We used the same stone on the floor as we did on the backsplash,” noted Kirsopp. “The stone in the backsplash has matching marble components in addition to shell and has a glitter grout. Additionally, the basket weave in the run was used in the shower pan and in the shampoo niche.”

The chandelier with its moisture-resistant glass shades and the original overhead skylight add the right amount of light to the space. The vibrant bronze fixtures throughout the bathroom provide an extra layer of sophistication. However, one intrinsic design item remains unseen yet delivers equally appealing results.

“The entire floor is heated, even into the seat in the shower,” noted Kirsopp.
