Corporate Corp

Welcome to spring in Kansas City — endless sunshine one day, cold winds the next after an overnight cold front. It keeps you guessing! One thing you don’t have to guess about? Spring fashion! Because I’ve got you covered.

One trend I’m absolutely loving right now is the revival of workwear-inspired looks. Think trousers in place of jeans, structured vests over t-shirts, and elegant suiting sets. Polished pieces like these have stormed back en vogue – and not just for the office.

Ties are a part of corporate core I hadn’t yet taken for a test drive, so I raided my dad’s closet and chose this elegant navy and white Swiss dot tie. (Confession: I did have him tie it for me!)

A crisp button-up with a sturdy collar is the obvious companion to a tie. I opted for a cropped baby blue button-up to make it more feminine, pairing the shirt with wide-leg navy trousers for a monochromatic, head-to-toe blue moment.

Now, a traditionalist might reach for a sleek pointed-toe pump to complete the look – and honestly, that’s a solid choice. But I couldn’t resist adding an unexpected, relaxed element: sneakers. The modern corporate aesthetic has loosened up in recent years, and the right pair of sneakers can absolutely pass the vibe check, even in an office setting.

So, if you’re looking to shake up your wardrobe this spring, why not dip your toes (or, in this case, lace up your sneakers) into the world of corporate corp? After all, fashion should be fun, flexible, and occasionally borrowed from your dad’s closet.
