Welcome to the holiday season of style, Kansas City! Let me tell you what we’re wearing for all those festive get-togethers this year. First off, we’re going to elevate the casual. You heard me – jeans are definitely in play this holiday season.

So how are we wearing our denim? We’re making a statement. Take these high-waisted, wide-leg jeans with a major cuff. So retro, right? Seventies vibes all the way. And while these jeans go everywhere, they’re still super sophisticated and eye-catching.

A silk striped button-up blouse is another attention-getter for Thanksgiving dinner or a Christmas pop-up. It’s classic, but statement sleeves give it something special. And tucking it into the jeans allows for the execution of a big accessory trend: the statement belt.

Belts are back in a big way for fall and winter. Look for studs, ornate buckles, and super shiny metals. This black leather belt with oversized silver studs is a new favorite in  my closet, and it added a nice touch to this look.

To fold in a hint of holiday glam to the look, I worked in a few bright red elements. I wanted touches of this classic color without going overboard. A tough scarlet patent leather ballet flat, a ruby stone necklace, and a cherry lipstick all combined to pepper this outfit with the perfect amount of holiday cheer.

Want to dress up your denim? Opt for a heeled boot or a slingback heel instead of the flats. You could also swap out the blouse for something with a sprinkle of sequins, like an embellished jacket or sweater. Want to go more casual? Try a chic sneaker, ditch the belt, and layer on an oversized fisherman sweater. Denim truly gives you the most options!

Wishing you a very merry season, KC!
