When it came to creating a cool vibe in these art collectors’ classy Colonial home facing Loose Park, this Thibaut green graffiti wallpaper rose to the top.

“After living in their home for over a decade, this family was ready to refresh their powder bathroom with something that truly reflected their personality. Since the space is just off the front entry and adjacent to their formal living room, they wanted it to make a statement,” said Megan Bringman, AKBD, of Schloegel Design Remodel. “We also tackled an office renovation at the same time as this half bath.”

The design centers around a floating vanity, paired with a sleek satin brass wall-mounted faucet.

“We incorporated a scalloped backsplash design for added interest,” Bringman explained. “They didn’t require much storage space, so we were able to have fun with the floating vanity concept, which also showcases more of the floor. The idea was to make the space feel larger than it is.”

The vanity is flanked by sconces that illuminate a stunning rattan-framed mirror.

New porcelain large scale tile flooring also makes the space feel larger. The homeowners, known for their love of bold and colorful artwork, were thrilled with the vibrant wallpaper choice, which complements their style perfectly.

Neeeiiigh!

When you walk into this powder room, you’ll feel like you’re taking the reins and relaxing! This Mission Hills traditional home was ready for a refresh.

“The previous bathroom had been dark and outdated for over 20 years, and the homeowners were eager for a vibrant update,” says designer Bringman. “The homeowner loves to infuse a touch of whimsy, so when we discovered the horse wallpaper, she was immediately on board.”

They were transforming the dining room into a library, and they wanted to match the new design in the adjacent half bathroom. The vanity with a console sink, has a custom marble countertop in Carrara marble. The rest of the home’s floors are hardwood, however she wanted to do something fun in there, so they installed a marble floor in a herringbone pattern.

“The half bathroom is right off the foyer and used for entertaining. The naval color for the trim is an unexpected but bold choice. We did satin brass on the fixtures, and the mirror has little rivets on it. The light fixture is a fun mid-century nod,” she continued. “The Schumacher horse wallpaper is a win.”

Bringman has worked with Schloegel for 18 years, and expressed, “I love wowing my clients. Powder rooms are perfect for making a statement – since you’re not in them for long, you can splurge a little to make a big impact in a small space.”
