JCYM is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) not-for profit women’s service organization founded in 1961 by 51 charter members. Philanthropy has been the hallmark since the beginning. JCYM has offered support to numerous philanthropies, often creating programs to fill needs that are identified in the community. Over 100 organizations in the Kansas City metro area have been helped by JCYM since its founding.
Our mission is to serve, support and promote philanthropies in our community. Last year, the women of JCYM volunteered over 14,000 hours and donated over $60,000 in grants to Evergreen Community of Johnson County, Growing Futures Early Education Center, Johnson County Christmas Bureau, Kids TLC, Safehome and Shawnee Indian Mission. They also collected $23,000 in items for those philanthropies and gave $7,000 in scholarships.
The theme for this year’s Boutique and Homes Tour is Illuminating Hearts and Changing Lives. The homes tour will be December 2 and 3 and include four beautiful homes in Lionsgate and Aventino decorated for the holidays by professional designers. Admission for the homes tour is $30.00.
Shop more than 25 unique vendors at our festive holiday boutique at Johnson County Community College – Regnier Center. We have vendors offering a wide variety of goods from cards to clothing, pet treats to ornaments, home décor to jewelry and so much more. Admission to the boutique is free!
Enjoy An Evening of Inspiring Hearts at the boutique the evening of December 3, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Take a nostalgic walk down memory lane of fashions from the beginning of JCYM in 1961 to current-day fashions. Admission is $25.00 for this event.

We opened Samsara Home in May of 2014 after Alex left the corporate world. Juan Carlos’ furniture refurbishing hobby was expanding quickly out of our home, and clients started asking, “Where is your store?” This was the beginning of our storefront in downtown Parkville, MO.
