KC was that winter never-ending or what? I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for all the spring things: sunshine, warm afternoons, and fresh new fashion. But while the parkas may be packed away, it’s not yet full-blown sandals and shorts weather.

So, how do you dress for this awkward in-between season? Balance, baby. I like to mix in a spring trend or two while keeping just enough fall and winter elements to stay seasonally on point.

The standout spring trend in this look? Powder pink. This pretty pastel is everywhere right now! Since it’s a color trend rather than a single item, you can choose your fashion weapon of choice! Love a powder pink sweater like I’m wearing here? Perfect. Prefer a chic shoe in this hue? You’re right on trend. A color as a craze like this makes it easy for everyone to get involved.

This blush sweater is great for dressing up and down (it’s also an office go-to for me, as it looks so sharp with trousers). I opted to tuck it into a pair of wide-leg cargo pants here for a more casual look. Cargoes are a fun style to try – there are a ton of options, from super baggy to slim cut, so keep your eye out as you shop for your spring closet.

Now for the winter element: a sturdy suede jacket. The suede’s heft and that dark chocolate color are cold-weather callbacks, keeping the outfit suitable for those brisk spring days. Suede jackets skyrocketed in popularity late last year, and they’re still in for the new season.

For just a bit of super saturated brightness, I grabbed a tomato-red suede sneaker. The texture ties in the jacket, while the powder pink laces wink at the sweater. The sneakers also lean into that off-duty aesthetic while keeping the outfit playful.

This whole outfit is endlessly remixable. Want to make it your own? Swap the cargo pants for a structured pair of jeans. Dress it up with a sleek pointed-toe boot instead of sneakers. Or trade the suede jacket for an oversized wool blazer for an extra polished feel. When it comes to transitional dressing, options are everything.

So, KC – how are you styling your way into spring?
