Biophilic Design

What is Biophilic Design? It’s a concept used in the design industry to increase our connectivity to the natural environment using nature directly and indirectly in our spaces. It is really a very basic concept. We are, as humans, part of nature, and when we are within that element, how does it make us feel? Don’t we all love to go to the beach, or hiking in the mountains? When designing our homes, the more windows the better so we can “bring the outside in.”

Some simple ways to bring nature into design is by adding natural patterns and textures. Even a vase of flowers will bring a brightness to the room.
