Smart Storage
So you went overboard and brought home more apples than you know what to do with. Here’s how to add a few months to the life of your haul.
- Keep your apples in a dark, cool place, such as an unheated basement or garage.
- Wrap your apples loosely in paper, misting the paper regularly if your home is dry.
- Freeze them to gain a 6 month life. Toss cut apple in lemon juice and flash freeze overnight. Use in recipes that call for cooked apples.
