A commercial pilot by profession, Gaumat began exploring other career opportunities after 9/11. He eventually ended up working within the construction industry and developed a keen interest in it. That interest further evolved to countertops, which inspired him to open his own fabrication company.

In 2005, Gaumat started Gaumats International, LLC, along with his wife Daisy Gaumat. Backed by a wealth of knowledge of granite and marble due to his family-owned quarries and processing plants in his native India, this was a natural transition for him. Even though there were several other companies providing the same work and services when Gaumat launched his business, he knew he could approach things differently by offering a superior customer experience. This began by importing premium granite and marble slabs from India and Brazil.

“We import most of our slabs,” emphasized Gaumat, who personally selects about 80% of the inventory. He also hired talented artisan fabricators to apply the finishing touch to each piece.

Gaumats International boasts a showroom in Grain Valley, Missouri, to display their selections of countertops, faucets, sinks, and various tile selections There is also a slab showroom with over 1200 slabs in inventory.

“We stock more than 125 colors in granite, marble, quartz, quartzite and limestone,” noted Gaumat, who also employs three designers who will work with customers to put together a complete look based on individual tastes and preferences.

Gaumats International takes great pride in the customer experience, from initial consultation through installation and beyond. After a customer has visited the showroom and scheduled an in-home consultation, selections are made, the estimate is approved, and the project begins.

Through the use of superior laser technology, a technician will take an exact digital template for measuring purposes, which are then turned over to a programmer who programs the Italian CNC waterjet saw, a robot waterjet saw, that cuts and finishes the selected slab.

“We use the best software to program the machine,” indicated Gaumat. “You can actually see the kitchen and what it will look like before we even begin the installation process. To me, this is a good marriage between man and machine. Our specialized artisans apply the finishing touches you just won’t find anywhere else.”

When it is time for the actual installation, the crew is professional and thorough. Every job is done right, and after the work is completed, they will clean up and do a walk-through with the customer. Again, the focus is on 100% customer satisfaction. Gaumats International will also follow-up after the installation is completed to ensure the customer once again is fully content with the end result.
