A Family Tradition

Hailing from a long line of Kansas City tastemakers, Erin Mankameyer and her mother, Brenda Groover, opened Groover Interior Design in Leawood to fill a need for their interior design clients. Each item in the shop is hand-picked by the duo and illustrates Erin’s skill in the art of design. In addition to offering custom furniture and home decor, Groover also offers personalized interior design services, “but,” notes Erin, “we are not a standard interior design firm.”

The Groover Interior Design process begins with the blueprints – working with the architect on the interior architecture of your space. “We are a start to finish firm, involved in everything from electrical layout, HVAC placement, cabinet and tile design, through the paint color and furnishings selections,” says Erin.

Erin’s ability to produce a customized look that represents her client’s tastes makes her the go-to designer for area builders as well. Her collaboration with Larson Building Company in Mills Farm won Pick of the Parade during the 2015 Kansas City Spring Homes Tour. She is also working on a custom Evan Talan Home as well as a tour home for Lambie Custom Homes. The Lambie home is part of the first-ever “Artisan Home Tour” sponsored by the Kansas City Home Builders Association. The tour, September 12th through the 20th, will feature 12 of Kansas City’s finest custom home builders and will showcase new luxury products. Tickets proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City. Visit artisanhometourkc.org for more information.
