Setting the tone for the beginning and end of your day starts with the sanctuary known as the master bathroom.

For one Cedar Creek homeowner, finding that little slice of Heaven on Earth doesn’t require much travel time. She can easily transition from the glorious master bedroom to this luxurious master bathroom in seconds and slip into a relaxing oasis for the mind, body and spirit.
“The homeowner wanted a spa-like feeling to her bathroom, similar to the ones in the elegant hotels in which she has stayed during her business travels,” noted Becky Mosby, Allied ASID, interior designer in the Design Gallery at Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Combining the magic of design with the lifestyle desires of the homeowner, the results are breathtaking. Chandeliers above the makeup counter and the tub allow this busy homeowner to prepare for the day like a princess and retire for the evening feeling like a queen. The pale aqua and cream damask wall paper with its floral design behind the double-Jacuzzi tub with its original columns complements the pale aqua paint on the walls.
“The client fell in love with the wallpaper, which is from F. Schumacher & Co.,” said Mosby.
The marble mosaic flooring, along with the larger porcelain tile around the tub and throughout the expansive walk-in shower, add a layer of simple sophistication to the space.
The custom gray accent tiles with hints of sparkle bring a bit of pop to the ensemble as they dance along the shower wall and around the tub. Carrera white marble tile surrounds the shower and its accompanying flooring, partnered with a dogbone mosaic floor throughout the bathroom, accented with black dots.
“The hand-knotted Oriental rug matches the chair and vanity, which in turn match the cocktail ottoman in the adjoining master bedroom,” referenced Mosby.
Sans a door, the expansive walk-in shower spells luxury with multiple showerheads and soothing wall sprays. The heated towel bar stands at the ready to deliver that perfect post-shower comforting touch.
The arctic white granite countertops easily balance the tan colored cabinetry that has been stained and glazed to offer a dark wood facade. A large storage tower, perfect for keeping extra towels and essentials, separates the two sinks that are outfitted with elegant brushed nickel fixtures.
Across the sink area, and contiguous to the walk-in closet, is the vanity area, enrobed in a soft cream color, bringing more tranquility to the space.
“I enjoyed providing the design ideas for this project and give all the credit for its implementation to the experts at Heartland Kitchen and Bath,” noted Mosby.
