Being Faithful to Your Own Tastes Never Goes out of Style

With unique and interesting home décor, accessories and furniture items, Iris Interiors not only understands its clients, but also the essence of the spaces in which they live.

It’s been said that picking a trend or style that is not you is not a good choice. Therefore, consider it a great idea to head on down to Iris Interiors, where it’s okay to be an original when it comes to the interior design and décor of your home. For when you do, your home will speak for itself.

Located in the River Market area across from River Market Antiques, Iris Interiors opened its doors in August and is becoming one of the hottest retail spots in the area for furniture, accessories and even some antiques. Consider this your one-stop shop for furniture, interior design and home décor, along with some fun costume jewelry pieces, and don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some cowhide rugs, either. There is always something to catch your eye and grab your attention, and owner Felecia Morris brings ample experience to the table when it comes to the products she carries.

“I’ve had antique booths for years at River Market Antiques,” expressed Morris, whose palpable enthusiasm for her new endeavor is only surpassed by the exciting vibe her store exudes. “I did this sort of thing on the side for years for family and friends and finally decided to pursue it full time.”

Morris has no shame reflex in admitting she is “a wee bit obsessed” with her business, simply because it gives her the opportunity to channel her passions and expertise while simultaneously offering customers a one-of-kind shopping experience. It is almost guaranteed that what you find here you won’t find anywhere else in the city. If you want to make your own statement in your home, then Iris Interiors has what you need.

Working in conjunction with her father, a silent partner, with whom she managed booths at antique shows, and her daughter, who holds a degree in graphic design and a certification in interior design, Morris prides herself on the unique finds and eclectic choices her store offers.

“I think sometimes people can get in a rut style-wise,” she commented, emphasizing the products in her store serve to spice things up in that regard. “Not only do we offer some pretty unique items, but we only choose good, quality products. Even the antiques we sell are sturdy and well-built.”

It would be nearly impossible to browse through Iris Interiors without finding something that speaks to your heart, soul, spirit and personality.  With its exciting mix of both standard and statement pieces, there is something for everyone. And because Iris Interiors continually brings in new items, each subsequent visit to the store will seem as if you are visiting a new store for the first time.

“We like to keep it fresh and usually stock new items every two to three weeks,” smiled Morris. “And if you can’t load it up in your car, we offer a delivery service.”

Morris loves to go to Market in Dallas periodically to keep her store vibrant and alive, as well as to auctions to secure the best antiques. She is always on the leading edge of what’s trending, too, and she uses that as her guide to inspire her purchasing decisions.

“Right now the loft living is what is influencing our selections since we are located in the River Market,” she noted.

A few of the product lines Iris Interiors carries include the Phillips Collection; Super Good Things; Talbot and Yoon; and Dusen Dusen. Store hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sundays, Noon – 5 p.m. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Iris Interiors also offers furniture reupholstering through local sources and home staging and interior design assistance.

Be sure to stop by the store the first Saturday of each month for wine and appetizers, too. This is the place where you are welcome to feel right at home while you shop for those things that are right for your home.

“I was told I should have done this a long time ago,” mused Felecia, who is pleased with how her persistence and passion have led her  to this point “The feedback we have received since we opened has been phenomenal, and I am excited for the opportunity to provide something for everyone in this store.”
